Wishing you a very happy New Year and welcome to our January newsletter.

As we enter 2012, to support this time of global change State Theta Galleries is offering a diverse and creative program for the year ahead.

Our vision for 2012 is to support personal, community, professional and artistic development through high quality and diverse programmes offering a range of regular and specialised trainings in Movement Based Creative and Healing Arts in addition to hosting Exhibitions, Special Events, a Complementary Health Practice and bespoke Media and Web design.

New Movement Class Timetable

The timetable for a new 11 week term of Movement Classes at State Theta Galleries taught by Audicia and running from January 9th to April 4th 2012 is now available on the website.

Master Instructors for 2012

We have invited 4 internationally renowned guest teachers to offer their work here throughout the year. This will be a unique opportunity to experience the work of highly skilled practitioners in a dedicated and intimate environment which itself provides a unique space for people to come together in community and support each other through the sharing of experience and teachings from around the world.

Class number are small to ensure quality and individual attention.

Weekend Workshop

Bill Palmer, pioneering director of the School for Experiential Education, and founder of Movement Shiatsu will be offering a day of treatments and a weekend program focusing on The Development of the Shao Yin and Tai Yang Meridians
Dates: Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2012

Treatment Day

Date: Friday 24th Feb 2012
An opportunity to receive a treatment from Bill Palmer. Places are limited to 5 sessions within the day (10.30am-6.00pm). A discount is available for those on the workshop.

Inner Alchemy Qigong (Chi Gung)

Dr Bisong Guo is the founding director of the Shen Foundation.

Dr Guo has devoted her life to the healing and transformation of humanity.
Over the course of 3 weekends Dr Bisong Guo will guide students through 3 levels with the aim to develop an understanding of Qigong through internal alchemy, by physically focusing on movements, exercises and postures, and by a deep understanding of the theory. .

A 3 weekend program over 9 months.
: March 10th/11th , June 9th/10th 2012, September 1st/2nd 2012

Movement, the Hidden Discipline

Dr Sandra Reeve is founder of Move into Life and is an Amerta Movement Practitioner, Dancer and Author of Movement, the Hidden Discipline.

Discover a movement practice that recognises change as the only constant in life and values:

  • The skill of adaptability without compromise
  • The capacity for choice rather than compulsion in action
  • An attitude of environmental awareness.

A 3 weekend program over 9 months.

Entering the Labyrinth

Rev Di Williams MBE is an Anglican priest, adult educator, labyrinth facilitator, spiritual accompanier, and writer.

Labyrinth Walks
9 monthly contemplative evenings leading up to the winter solstice of 2012.

Movement based expressive arts trainings.
Based on the work of Anna and Daria Halprin.

First level 1 training launches April 5th 2012. Based at the Quarterhouse in Folkestone's Creative Quarter.

Tamalpa Life /Art® is an internationally recognized expressive arts approach which combines movement, visual art, and creative writing to access the innate wisdom of the body and the transformative power of the imagination.

This work supports personal, interpersonal and social change, teaching new models of health, education, psychology and art.

Tamalpa Experience Workshops

The Tamalpa Experience introduces an approach that enlivens dialogue between body and imagination, life experiences and art making. Using movement, drawing, writing and improvisational performance, participants will tap into art's symbolic language to explore current life themes and generate new resources.

City Dance Edinburgh - August 2012

Join us for next summer's performance project with Taira Restar (USA) and Audicia Lynne Morley based on the pioneering work of Anna Halprin.
