Discover how the everyday activity of walking can become more effortless, pleasurable & powerful using the uniquely effective movement lessons of the Feldenkrais Method®.

During the workshop we will explore ways that the shoulders and hips can co-operate with one another to create a fluid and integrated action when walking, as well as how force can be more effectively transmitted from the feet up the spine to increase the propulsion of each step – creating an easeful and elegant walk.

The main tool for our investigations will be Awareness Through Movement lessons – in which the teacher talks you through a sequence of movements that work like a physical riddle, done in lying or sitting positions.

The lessons invite you to play with unaccustomed movement relationships. By engaging your curiosity, gently and at your own rate, you learn to explore the world of internal sensation. As you develop and refine your awareness, chronic patterns of tension can be released and new movement possibilities are created.

The workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and ability.

The Feldenkrais Method is a unique approach to movement, developed by Israeli scientist, engineer and Judo expert, Dr Moshe Feldenkrais.

By increasing our awareness of our movement, breathing and posture the Method helps the individual to learn ways of moving more freely, with greater ease, flexibility and grace. The Feldenkrais Method can permanently improve our posture, balance and co-ordination, awakening our innate capacity for life-long vitality and continuing self-development.
